Leadli update: Chat widget color picker adapts to browser support

September 18, 2026

Chat widget color picker adapts to your browser

The chat widget color picker now shows only the options your browser supports.

What changed

  • Safari and Firefox: The eyedropper option is hidden because these browsers do not support the required native API.
  • Chrome: No change. The eyedropper stays available and works as before.

The color spectrum, hue controls, and hex input are still available, so you can set any custom color.

How it works

This update uses the Highrise design system package (@platform-ui/highrise 4.8.4) used by the chat widget color picker.

The app detects browser support automatically:

  • If the native eyedropper API is available, the eyedropper is shown.
  • If the API is not available, the eyedropper is hidden.

No chat widget configuration or code changes are required.

Why it matters

Previously, Safari and Firefox could show an eyedropper option that looked usable but did not work when clicked. This could make the color picker seem broken even though other color selection options worked.

We identified the issue through Sentry error monitoring and adjusted the UI so the color picker matches the actual capabilities of each browser.

Availability

This update is live for everyone. Existing chat widget settings and previously saved colors are not affected.
