Summary

In the Create Record and Update Record workflow actions (including the associated record versions), single-select dropdown fields stopped showing dynamic values. If you had saved a merge tag value (for example, null) the dropdown could open with nothing selected, and you could not enter a new merge tag.

What’s been fixed

Single-select dropdown fields now include a Standard / Dynamic toggle (the same approach used in Update Contact Field).

How it works now

• Standard mode provides a searchable picklist.
• Dynamic mode provides a text input with a custom value picker so you can insert a merge tag from a trigger, formatter, or inbound webhook.
• If a saved value does not match a picklist option, the field opens in Dynamic mode so existing configurations display as expected.
• Switching between modes clears the field to prevent an unintended value from being saved.

Notes

• This applies to Create Record, Update Record, and both associated record actions in contact-based and custom object workflows.
• Multi-select fields were not affected.
• Update Contact Field is unchanged.
